MSD’s 8.5mm Super Conductor wire sets have a special helically wound core that has just 40-50 ohms of resistance per foot–but with an RFI suppression equal to a 1,500 ohm wire. In fact, each foot of finished wire features of tightly wound copper for superior conductivity. A tough, 8.5mm synthetic/silicone jacket over an extra-heavy glass braid and dielectric insulator keeps the current guided to the plugs. Underneath the high-temperature boots, dual crimp stainless steel terminals feature snap-locks to ensure a secure fit.’
Multi-angle and HEI Boots MSD’s 8.5mm Super Conductor Wire it creates a great deal of radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI). Uncontrolled, this can show up as static in the radio or other electronic devices, or much more seriously, in electronic ignitions, fuel injection, and engine management systems. This interference with EFI and engine management systems can cause “cross talk” between wiring harnesses resulting in poor running, misfiring and decreased performance.
MSD IGNITION WIRES Sets utilize a construction method known as “variable pitch” wire winding to create resistance to radio frequency interference. The variable pitch winding (loose/tight/loose) provides suppression throughout a very wide range by “scrambling” and breaking up the electrical waves radiated by the firing of the spark plugs.
