The standard VR38DETT comes with a 5.8 quart engine oil capacity and works the engine oil hard with big temperature loading and duty cycle due to missing out on additional capacity. With this in mind, AVS have re-modelled the original pressed tin factory pan into a two piece high volume CNC billet aluminium sump, complete with cooling fins and removable bottom tray that takes the GTR oil capacity out an extra 1.7 quarts to a total of 7.5 quarts, reducing overall oil temperature and giving a greater reservoir for the engine to draw from. A must-have upgrade for hard driving enthusiasts, our Nissan R35 GTR High Capacity Sump helps to reduce the chances of oil starvation to your engine's bottom end. When using the stock sump there is a serious risk of oil starvaton due to the oil moving away from the pickup pipe under the G forces created by hard acceleration, braking and cornering. Our sump combats this problem through its design; guiding the oil into the path of the oil pickup. In addition to the extra oil capacity that our sump has, your engine is almost entirely prevented from oil starvation. The finned design of the sump also allows for greater cooling thanks to the larger surface area, helping to keep your engine oil temperature down during prolonged periods of hard driving.
